First OPEN BAR(RE) with TG&C

INTERSECTIONS March 2022

Self presented an entire evening of contemporary ballet works- all performed with her esteemed DC dance colleagues at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The evening was entitled, REVIVAL, which celebrated many of her favorite works in the past. 

What's an Open BAR(RE)? It's where you and dance community friends come together, meet Therese and her company members, enjoy refreshments and experience an up close look into the rehearsal process.

INTERSECTIONS PERFORMANCE (2020)

Therese premiered her latest piece, Do Not Go Gentle, at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. It was also the first time her and her sister, Liz Gahl le Notre, produced a performance together! Truly a special and memorable night!

Most particularly special, this was the final performance before the COVID-19 pandemic struck and theaters closed down. 

ATLAS INTERSECTIONS (2019)

Therese presented her contemporary ballet full length work, FIXATED, alongside members of the Dance ICONS cohort during the 2018 Intersections Festival. Many thanks to Lorraine Spiegler and CityDance Conservatory for the dancers' beautiful performance! And for Heidi Hawkins in creating this great opportunity to share our newest creative works!

GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER/ADJUNCT FACULTY AT TOWSON UNIVERSITY (2018)

Therese had the amazing opportunity to restage her latest piece, Spectre. It was an incredibly warm, positive and talented company of dedicated dancers and faculty professors. Will always be grateful for the time she had with the Towson Dance Company!

SMALL PLATES CHOREOGRAPHY FESTIVAL IN RICHMOND (2018) 

Therese Gahl presented and performed a solo from her latest work, The Waiting Room at the Dogtown Dance Theater in Richmond. This was the first time she participated in this festival. Special thanks to Beth Elliott, Kelly Hamlin, and Heidi Murr for hosting this wonderful weekend of dance!

PRESENTED AND PERFORMED WITH DC CONTEMPORARY DANCE (2018)

Directed by Miya Hisaka, TDC’s Spring 2018 Season at the Atlas/Sprenger Theater showcases some of the finest classical repertory as well as recent Company contemporary season premieres. TDC was proud to present TDC company member Therese Gahl (TWSB, Ballet West). Gahl’s uplifting excerpts from Spectra, reflects the sensations of the color spectrum through neoclassical dance.

PRESENTED AT INTERSECTIONS (2018)

Therese Gahl and Nancy Flores presented at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. Performing with 17 CityDance Conservatory Dancers, she restaged her full 25 minute length piece, SPECTRA.

PRESENTED AT VELOCITYDC FESTIVAL (2017)

Therese presented for the first time with the VelocityDC Festival at Sidney Harman Hall. She restaged two sections of her full length work, SPECTRA. It was performed by CityDance Conservatory Dancers.

Therese Gahl has completed the post-graduate professional development program at ICONS Choreographic Institute at the Dance Loft, and has obtained a professional diploma certification for her/his expertise in the field of choreography. The program is under the umbrella of The International Consortium for Advancement in Choreography – Dance ICONS, Inc., the global network for choreographers.  Therese worked under the mentorship of Vladimir Angelov, Founding Director. Her dancers include CityDance Conservatory and local DC/MD/VA artists.
